What is the best way to get my child to relate to another? 1) The age of the child is especially important here. High School and College young adults relate differently from the young ones. 2) Is there an interest in meeting a particular friend or, if older, a member of the opposite sex? 3) How does the child relate to objects? Does he relate to people like objects? 4) Observe your child when he meets someone he knows; someone he does not know. Is it really that important to get the right type of help early? 1) Yes. Up until 6, the language part of the mind is still developing. If we can resolve issues early, then the mind of the child has a chance to catch up to the normal way of thinking. After 6 years old, the language part of the mind slows down in development Growth still happens, but in a different way.
